Easter 2016

The day before Easter we woke up early
for the egg hunt at our local grocer,
Mariano's.
We have done this one quite a few times
and found they are very generous
with the eggs!
Plus, for at least the 3rd time
(maybe 4th...we can't remember!)
Mila found the "special" egg
for her age group and won
a big Easter basket!
We started Easter morning off right--
with Easter baskets
and lots of chocolate before 7:30am.
Later we read the Easter story to the girls
and headed out to brunch.
We enjoyed a tasty Southern
 buffet at Frontier
Mila LOVED the biscuits.
Mom loved the grits.
Willow loved the cookies.
Dad loved the ham.
Speaking of ham!!!
Mommy and her big girl, the OG.
"Ho you" is Willow speak for
"Hold me please right now or
I will keep saying 'ho you'
a hundred more times."
...it was uttered a lot this Easter morning.
We didn't mind too much.
After brunch we took a walk,
it was really nice out.
A little later Mila rode her bike around the park
with Mommy jogging behind for 2.5 miles (!)
while Dad and Lolo hung out in the playground.
Take a good look at that
lower middle tooth on the left
before it's gone for good...
Mila's first loose tooth is hanging by thread!
She may or may not have been bribed
with candy to sit for this picture.
Say "Reese's!"
These two made sure we had a happy,
yummy, family-filled Easter.
Hope you did too!

Leap Year Lovelies

Yesterday after I got Mila ready for school,
I just marveled at her.
She's growing into a little lady faster
than I can comprehend,
and she looked so adorable.
 It was also leap day,
so I thought I'd snap a few pics with my iPhone
 to commemorate the morning.
This one (with the help of an Instagram filter)
may have turned out the best,
but to be honest the little stinkers
weren't really cooperating.
I couldn't get just the right picture
and was getting a little aggravated with the girls.
But later I looked the photos over and realized
they captured this morning better
than a "perfect" picture ever could.
Mila is holding a wooden daily calendar
that we try to remember to turn each day.
99 percent of the time Mila takes care of it.
She wanted it in the picture to prove it was leap day.
"If you have good thoughts,
they will shine out of your face like sun beams
and you will always look lovely."
