Krazy for Kazoo!

Mila discovered a kazoo Mommy had stuffed in the closet (strange but true, it's a downright circus around here sometimes...) We showed her how to play it, not really expecting her to catch on, but she instantly figured it out! Daddy quickly whipped out his phone to take this little video:

"Snowed In"

Since we finally got a major snow, Mommy bundled Mila up for some serious
playtime in the fresh winter wonderland.
She hated it.
She just whined and refused to move her feet. So...plan B:

Bring the snow inside and it is a hit!

Great Times at Great Wolf

Over Christmas break, we went with Joel's entire family
to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, MI
As we suspected, our little water baby absolutely loved it!
And Mom and Dad had a blast too.
Mila really liked shooting hoops in the pool,
we might have a little b-ball player on our hands!
By the last morning she grew so eager to get back in the water,
she attempted putting on her swimsuit herself!
How many licks to the center?
Guess Mommy's sanitary desires went out the window
after a few days with a toddler at a water park...
Each night in the enormous wilderness themed lobby, the kids gathered in their pjs for story time that featured
a magical "snowfall" finale.

The cousins got a better look on their Daddy's shoulders.
Of course, Mila's favorite part of the lobby was the coloring station.
Spending three days with six grandkids is fun but exhausting!
Thanks for a great time, Grandma and Grandpa!

Family Christmas

Mila had a blast celebrating Christmas Day at Grandpa Bill and Grandma Rita's.

There were lots of laughs and plenty of yummy
holiday eats--Mila even tried prime rib for the first time, she liked it!

Although the picture above proves there were plenty of cute moments between the kids, the attempt at a group shot below proves getting 6 kids (age 8 and younger) who have been in a sugary Christmas frenzy all day to smile at once is IMPOSSIBLE!

Christmas Eve

Our happy family celebrated Christmas Eve with just the three of us.
The holiday spread--
oysters florentine, smoked salmon, spinach-bacon cheese puffs,
shrimp cocktail, whitefish salad
Every year Mommy gives Mila an ornament in her stocking. Since Mila is such a boot lover, Mommy gave her a red rubber boot ornament--she tried to put them on!
It was kind of an Elmo Christmas around here...
But the hit of the night were new markers made to be used on glass.
Don't worry Daddy, they wash off easily!
It was such a joy to watch Mila open her presents and experience the magic of Christmas--the time we spent together was the best present of all :)
