Children's Museum

Earlier this year we became members of the Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier.  We have already gone a half dozen times so the membership has been well worth it.  Plus, it comes with free parking at Navy Pier so we plan to spend a lot of time there this summer checking out the fireworks, live music and beautiful lakeshore.  Here is Mila enjoying a few exhibits at the museum on our last visit:
We have passes for four to the museum, so if any friends would like to join us, let Mommy know!

Easter Morning

Mila awoke to find her first Easter basket waiting for her.
We filled it with fun little presents and candies, of course,
and she wasted no time digging in!
In most of these pics you can see a smear of chocolate on Mila's lips.
She loved her funky magnetic numbers Mommy found on Etsy.
"I'm two!"
We laughed at how intensely she checked out
her new book about the story of Easter.
She gave it a good look over before tossing it aside for more candy :)
We searched high and low for a paint with water book (why are they so hard to find???) and found a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse one Mila wanted to play with right away.
Mila's sweet little skirt and sweater was handmade with love by Grandma Rita.
Mila added the hat herself before we walked out the door.
For the 3rd year in a row, we enjoyed a fabulous Easter brunch
at Zed 451 with the Sikkel family.
Giving Daddy some Easter love before our decadent meal.
Happy Easter!

1st Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, we hopped on down to our favorite neighborhood playground, Smith Park, for Mila's first Easter egg hunt. She got the concept right away...
...especially once she discovered what was inside the eggs!
We figure Mila has easily consumed more chocolate in the past
48 hours than she's eaten in her entire 2 years.
We might have to have an intervention!

Show Me That Smile!

This week we took Mila to her 1st dentist appointment...
as is evident from the look on her face, it didn't go smoothly:
She pretty much refused to let the dentist look in her mouth, so Mommy held her upside down and tickled her while he took a quick look. He said her teeth looked great and she should come back in a year. Hopefully she'll cooperate next time!
