Spring Break!

After a super harsh Chicago winter,
our trip to Ft. Myers felt extra nice this year.
Mila was in her glory...
water, sand, Grandma Lynn,
Easter candy, pool toys...
She couldn't have been happier.
This water gun from Grandma was a huge hit.
As usual, our girl loved the sand.
Here she is making a sand angel!

And Willow? Sweet Willow...
she was a peach.
I mean seriously,
 eat my heart out, kid.
.
Napping so peacefully,
 poolside.
She even gave Mommy some time to
relax & read an entire book.
Dare Me by Megan Abbott--
Super dark and suspenseful and well written,
loved it.
We went to Ft. Myers beach one day
and had an awesome lunch at the Greek cafe
right on the beach...
but spent practically every other waking minute
enjoying the awesome pools at Grandma Lynn
and Grandpa Tony's place in Miromar Lakes.

We went through a lot of sunscreen...
Every morning Mila insisted she
put sunscreen on her face by herself.
While listening to songs from Frozen
on Mommy's phone. It was hilarious.

Willow discovered a new favorite food--
Florida oranges!
Water-logged girl.
We even swam at dusk.
We did take a small break from the pools
to play a little bocci ball.
Mila loved keeping score and
especially enjoyed checking
to see whose ball was closer.
The child has a serious thing for measuring tapes.
Feeling good in the sunshine,
fingers crossed Spring will finally arrive
upon our return to the winter that won't quit.
