Mila was the picture of health at her 6 week check up:
Weighing in at a little over 10lbs!
Everything looks good.
Measuring almost 22 inches.
Dr. Lizbet Ronning, who delivered Mila, has been Kelly's doctor for several years. Unfortunately for us, she's moving out of state so this was our last appointment together. We'll miss you Dr. Ronning!

A Space of Her Own
A couple of people have asked about Mila's room. Turning our office into her nursery was quite a project, but we are very happy with how it came out. Joel did a lot of the work himself including ripping out a huge built-in desk, painting, creating a changing station and re-surfacing the window sill. We custom ordered the closet and coordinating sliding glass doors (separating her room from ours) from The Sliding Door Company. The collage above shows the finished product--click on the picture for a closer look.

One Month Old!
Mila turned one month old on April 17th and we can't believe how fast time has gone! She was lucky enough to receive two sets of shirts depicting her age each month for her first year. It will be so fun to see how she grows.
By the way...the ukulele is there for scale, but also because she loves the a great job her Daddy did stripping it and painting it pink just for her (she has a matching pink guitar too)!

Loaded Up
Kelly took Mila grocery shopping for the first time...and promises Mila was comfortable! Nothing was actually touching her, but Mommy is still figuring this whole thing out....For example, what do you do when you're home and need to unload groceries and the baby from the parking lot into your building???

Drum Roll Please!
Mila went to the doctor on Wednesday for a routine two-week appointment. Seconds after birth Mila weighed 6 lbs 15 oz, two days later she went down to 6 lbs 5 oz, and at her two-week appointment this week she weighed......(drum roll, please)......7 lbs 9 oz! She also grew half an inch taller. We're thrilled that she is healthy and eating so well.
On Thursday Kelly went back to class for the first time, leaving Mila alone with Daddy for 3 hours. He couldn't wait to show her off. He swaddled her up and met Uncle Phlow at our neighborhood hangout, Tuman's.
This morning, after a feeding and some cuddling, Kelly saw (what looked like) Mila smiling for the first time! It is a little early, since Mila isn't quite 3 weeks yet (but we all knew she was a genius!). Joel said he saw it on Saturday night, but he wasn't quick enough to grab the camera. What do you think, that's a sweet little smile isn't it?!?
